Necessities of Life & Community Development

The 1st NAEF recognizes that lasting community development comes from the community itself.  Having reliable access to quality food, and consistent power, a community that can sustain itself economically, and nutritionally, are critical components for a successful and thriving society.  Our methods work with existing community groups and organizations, as well as to set up groups, in order to learn and respond to what the community determines its needs to be. From providing immediate necessities for living through to governance advisory and mentoring we work to help population’s lives become well again.

Youth Empowerment

Countries around the world are experiencing a 'youth bubble' without sufficient jobs or opportunities for the increasing numbers of youth. In areas suffering from instability this can create a public safety issue as young people resort to troubling, illegal, or extremist activities for money and notoriety as well as out of boredom. The 1st NAEF will focus on opportunities for youth to keep them engaged and occupied, as well as to increase educational and employment opportunities.

Peace Support and Public Safety

A main focus of the 1st NAEF is regional stability in conflict zones. We see that comprehensive local capacity development in defence, public safety and security, emergency and aid response, and critical infrastructure protection, that are fully integrated and complimentary to social and community support services are key to sustained peace.

The foundational premise is that if the apparatus for public safety and security, and emergency response services, are functioning in a cohesive and professional manner, the risks associated with high-effect harm instances and further instability against local populations are reduced to a more normal, predictable and manageable level.
